BRAKE ACCESS STATEMENT Introduction
Castle Brake is a rural resort situated in an area of outstanding natural
beauty. It is surrounded by woodland. The nearest public transport is
approx a mile and half away. The majority of facilities are situated on
reasonably flat level areas as are the static holiday homes for hire.
Camping and Touring Caravan areas are located on level fields that are
suitable for persons with mobility problems.
Pre-Arrival
Our colour brochure and website provide detailed information on the accommodation
and facilities, that are offered, further details can be obtained via
E Mail, Telephone or post.
Arrival and Car Parking Facilities
A private road brings you through our main static caravan field. We operate
a 5mph speed restriction throughout the park. All Static Holiday Homes
allow for a car to be parked to the door side of the unit. There is a
5 metre width between units and a minimum of 10 metres length. All Tent
and Touring Caravan Pitches allow for 1 vehicle to be parked alongside.
Extra vehicles must be left in the designated parking areas.
Main Entrance & Reception
The main entrance to the park is via a private road leading off from a
narrow country lane. It is very clearly sign posted with the brown camping
site signs. This road leads you down to the park. Reception is situated
at the bottom of the road. There are a limited number of spaces for cars
to park outside the main reception including 1 Disabled Parking Bay for
Blue Badge Holders. Entrance to reception is through a standard door with
a ramp. The area inside, is level with laminate flooring.
We have a desk for booking in, this process takes only a few minutes and
all guests are handed a welcome pack along with their keys, and given
directions to their caravan.
During the main holiday season Reception is open from 8.00am until 6.00pm.
An out of hours contact telephone number is posted on a notice board in
the reception window.
Holiday Homes
There are 15 Static Caravan Holiday Homes available for rent, and vary
between 2 and 3 bedroom models. All holiday of our homes are modern and
spacious. The caravans all have 2 steps up to the door
Touring Park Amenities
There are 2 amenity blocks to service the Camping and Touring Caravan
Pitches, both have toilets, free hot shower facilities and wash basins.
One Block has a Disabled cubicle containing a toilet, wash hand basin
and a level entry shower, family bathrooms with coin operated baths, under
floor heating and modern interiors.
Both blocks are situated on level ground.
The Castle Bistro
The Restaurant is the next building down from reception; it has an indoor
dining area as well as an outdoor veranda with superb views across the
exe estuary. This is not accessible for wheelchair users as there are
steps to it.
Play Park
Located in the recreation field adjacent to the seasonal touring field,
our outdoor Children’s Play Park is built on a grassed field with
rubber matting underneath all equipment.
Launderette
The park launderette contains 2 Washing Machines, 2 Tumble Dryers both
at floor level and 2 Ironing Boards 900mm high.
